Opening Concert

A party in a 2000 year-old amphitheatre

Each year we kick off Dimensions Festival with a special one-off show in Pula Arena.

At around 2,000 years old and one of the largest Roman amphitheatres in existence, Pula Arena offers attendees a chance to party in one of the most momentous venues in the world. Since the festival’s inception eight years ago we’ve welcomed festival-goers and musical fans from across the globe to celebrate the start of Dimensions Festival with a live concert in one of the most unique event spaces on the planet.

This year we are very proud to announce joining are..

Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals,

who’ll be headlining our 2019 amphitheatre show.

A true music polymath who straddles the fringes of neo-soul and hip-hop, whilst consistently pushing boundaries, we’re excited to welcome rapper and singer Anderson .Paak to Pula’s amphitheatre for his trademark full-energy live show accompanied by his band – the Free Nationals.

Fresh from the release of his sublime latest album, Ventura, and his recently-announced US tour, (Best Teef In the Game Tour), Anderson .Paak will be joining us in Croatia to help kick off our last dance in the Fort.

Performing his eagerly anticipated new live show in the amphitheatre for our final edition.

2018 was a massive year for Objekt; having released lauded album, ‘Cocoon Crush’. The LP, which signalled a move away from techno-based sounds, and deployed a more organic sound palette of foley recordings and ASMR-inspired textures, was one of the biggest releases of the year.

Alongside this, Objekt has built a reputation as one of the must-see DJs of his generation; awarded DJ of the year by Mixmag.

We can’t wait for his live show within such an unique space, which will be further accentuated by accompanying visuals from digital artist Ezra Miller.

Tony Allen & Jeff Mills

Perform a very special live set.

In his quest to liberate himself from the tyranny of the sequencer, Jeff Mills couldn’t wish for a better partner than the father of Afrobeat: Tony Allen, considered by many as one of the greatest drummers alive. Jeff Mills himself is a titan of the electronic dance scene and a tireless innovator, who helped to give birth to the 1980s Detroit techno scene. The pair have been working in collaboration over the last few years, connecting over music, mind and spirit.

Drum kits interplay with drum pads in this exclusive pairing, and we are thrilled to welcome two of the most influential musicians of all time to Pula’s amphitheatre this August.

Makes a very welcome return to Pula this summer.

One of the highlights of last year’s festival, Hunee will be bringing his boundless energy and flawless selections to our opening concert, kicking off the weekend in the right way.

Every DJ would like to think themselves a real musical connoisseur, but Hunee really is.  As likely to draw for a classic house record as he is a disco curveball, a boogie delight or mixing an African bomb into a techno record, each selection he makes is a thing of true passion – you can see it not only in his eyes, but so too in the eyes of those dancing along.

His sunset set on the Beach last year was a standout, and we can’t wait for him to inject the same energy into the amphitheatre for our last opening concert in Pula.
