Get to know: Fuse, Brussels

We talk to long-standing partner Fuse, ahead of their 25 year celebrations...

Fuse is one of Belgium’s longest running electronic institutions.

In 2019, the seminal venue looks forward to celebrating 25 years of operation: hosting some of the world’s best artists, labels and promoters during that time…

We’re delighted that Fuse will be back at the Fort this summer, as part of their 25 years celebration.Fuse has been a much-loved partner with Dimensions for a number of years; hosting boats, stage takeovers – including most memorably a takeover of The Clearing in 2015 with Ampere, hosting the likes of Paranoid London, Blawan and the legendary Underground Resistance.

As we countdown the days until we’re back at the Fort, we joined forces with Fuse for a special launch party – part of our International Series, with Acid House pioneer DJ PierreDasco and Fuse resident, Pierre.

This year Fuse will be setting sail on a 3-hour boat party with DJ Bone, DVS1 and Fuse resident A. Brehme.

Q&A with Fuse

As you look forward to celebrating your 25 years of operation, who are some stand-out guests you’ve had over the years?

From Motor City innovators such as Juan Atkins, Robert Hood and Carl Craig to show stopping acts like Bjork, Daft Punk and Aphex Twin, and every underground legend in between, the cast of characters in Fuse’s long history is pretty comprehensive!

How are you planning on celebrating 25 years?

We’re taking it on a different angle for 25 years Fuse: in contrast to our more alternative club programming and Crossroads Festival – we’ve booked the more accessible line-up for our 25th birthday: Len Faki, Mind Against, all time club friend Dave Clarke and others…more info here.

Being regulars at the festival, as we prepare to say goodbye to the Fort – what’s your favourite spot on site?

That’s a shame to say goodbye to such a cool stage, but we’re looking forward what the future will bring instead. I’m in love with the green surroundings of the Garden stage (pictured left)  as well – the more green the better!

Who are you most looking to catching at Dimensions this year?

How can you even choose between all those names? The Hessle Audio trio, to the Japanese DJ Nobu and even upcoming names like Re:Ni or Courtesy are super cool. Most of the names for next year’s Dimensions played yet at Fuse as well, but seeing them in such an ‘exotic’ outdoor venue much create a whole different vibe.

What’s a highlight from your experiences at Dimensions?

The party with Ampere was pretty cool, but also the launch party at Fuse with Marcellus Pittmann & Dimensions Soundsystem last year April. The guys from Dimensions SS are super chill and funny! Amazing team to work with actually.
